One may wonder, "Why homelessness?", out of all the issues Progression could have chosen to focus on.

Well for starters, homeless shelters all across the nation were hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. Not only has means in funding decreased, but supplies were reduced as well. Therefore, homelessness appears to be the ideal issue that Progression may focus on.

​

Anyone can raise awareness about an issue, but very few take matters in their own hands to truly make change.

​

Homelessness is a very hidden issue that most people don't realize the reasoning behind. A majority of people view the homeless as drug addicts and some even perceive them as lazy. One of the greatest common factors in  homelessness is mental health. Approximately 20% of the homeless population consists of the youth (ages 13-24). Some may be suffering from being rejected or even escaping abusive households.

Although Progression may not be able to currently fully tackle the matter, we most certainly can make a difference and provide hope. This will show and hopefully even inspire others to make a change in the world for the better by striving to be greater. If each individual would aspire to bring change, that is when progression as a society is truly achieved.

At the end of the day, there's only so much I can do alone. Therefore, I'm asking for your help and support so that it may guide me.
